On Saturday, November 19, the Place Jacques Amyot in Melun (Seine-et-Marne) will be transformed into solidarity scene and of festivities on the occasion of an evening dedicated to Movember. Bastien Chiron, active member of the La Table Ronde association, reveals the details of this anticipated charity event.
A friendly event
The evening, organized in collaboration with the Docteur Beer and Papa Jacques establishments, aims to raise awareness and raise funds for the fight against prostate and testicular cancer, as well as for men’s mental health.
“Movember is an event that can be compared to Pink October,” explains Bastien Chiron. Its name is also a play on words combining mustache and November, symbolizing this commitment.
From 7 p.m., the evening promises a unique and varied atmosphere. A barber will be present until 10:30 p.m. to offer participants treatments, accompanied by a small gift. “He will be there to take care of everyone’s mustaches and beards. It will be completely free,” specifies Bastien Chiron.
For music lovers, a DJ set will start at 10 p.m., extending the entertainment until 2 a.m. This transition will mark the passage from a friendly atmosphere to a more festive moment, making the evening unforgettable.
We have planned a place where it will be possible to take photos to immortalize this moment!
Even those who don’t wear a mustache will be able to join in the fun: fake mustaches will be available to fully immerse themselves in the Movember spirit.
The event is intended to be inclusive, accessible to all, without exception. In addition, certain drinks specially named for the occasion will raise funds, with part of their price being donated to support the cause.
The round table, a dedicated association
Created in 1950, the La Table Ronde association brings together men under the age of 40, from various backgrounds. It is a structure which is not specific to Melun, it is established almost everywhere in France. She is known for organizing various charity events.
“We raise funds for different events, and in this month of November, we wanted to focus on Movember,” explains Bastien Chiron, emphasizing the association’s commitment to various causes.
After considering a first edition last year, the association was unable to realize the project due to other commitments. This year, perseverance paid off: “We can finally put it together this year and it’s great! », he concludes with enthusiasm, ready to make this evening a strong and united moment.
The inhabitants of Melun and the surrounding area are therefore invited to come together, share and support this important cause, all in good humor and conviviality.
