Does bee pollen make breasts enlarge?

It's on Tiktok that we find the craziest trends, and the social network has struck again. For several months, young girls have been rushing to the “honey” section to find propolis. The cause? A video posted by New Yorker Taylor Reynolds, assuring that her sister, her roommate and herself had gained breasts after taking bee pollen. Since then, the video has been viewed millions of times, liked and re-shared around the world.

If it took some time for the American trend to reach the ears of French women, it is now done. On Tiktok, videos of young women singing the praises of propolis are piling up. The tiktoker @halowaparishealthy assures us: “I took it because I was a little sick, and I actually ended up with a side effect. I gained chest.” Really ? We sort out the truth from the falsehood.

“Pity where can we find it, it’s a question of life or death”launches a user in a comment on TikTok. “I need to test this.”assures another. “TikTok made me buy it, I can’t wait to try it!”

Those who have tested the curious technique seem rather delighted. “Since I started eating it, my breasts have been swollen and hard. I don’t know if it’s in my head, but I feel like it’s working.”confides @lavacancieree to his community. A few days later, she commented on his post again: “It’s already worked so well for me!!!”

But once the jar of Propolis is in hand, what do we do with it? “How is it consumed?”some ask. Fans of propolis generally slip it into their yogurt or cottage cheese, otherwise into a herbal tea. “One spoonful once a day for one to two months.” Some young women also have fun publishing before/after photos on social networks, such as the tiktoker @kaylinmally. However, these images should be taken with a grain of salt…

Absolutely no studies have been carried out on this subject and it is impossible to say that a pollen cure can truly increase breast size. On the other hand, propolis is indeed rich in phytoestrogen, a compound that can mimic estrogen. Taking bee pollen in large enough quantities over the medium term can therefore potentially lead to physical changes. In any case, this is what naturopathic doctor Lisa Jung assures HuffPost.

“An example of an area of the body that has estrogen receptors is breast tissue, and this may be why women have noticed their breasts enlarged with the consumption of bee pollen.”declares the doctor. However, she also wishes to emphasize that “Breast size and development depend on multiple factors, including genetics, hormones and fat distribution”. So obviously, each case is particular.

Pollen is a food supplement known for its benefits. It is rich in essential nutrients and contains a unique combination of proteins, vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants.

Pollen thus helps fight free radicals responsible for cellular aging. It is also known for stimulating the body's natural defenses, and is perfect for health in winter. Likewise, bee pollen can help prevent infections and improve the immune response, especially in times of stress or fatigue. It promotes digestion, reduces bad cholesterol and desensitizes allergic organisms… to airborne pollen!

So if it is not certain that a propolis treatment will make us gain a cup size, it is however obvious that it will do a lot of good for our health!
