For No Tobacco Month, 30 days to stop smoking in Bigouden Country

“If you rarely start smoking alone, it is also possible to be supported to quit. » This is the message from health professionals in Pays Bigouden who are proposing to stop smoking for 30 days to mark No Tobacco Month. The latter increases your chances of quitting cigarettes for good by five.

In addition to the financial aspect, stopping smoking allows you to regain better concentration or even improve the quality of your sleep. The Territorial Professional Health Community (CPTS) of Pays Bigouden and its partners – the Multi-Professional Health Centers (MSP) of Pouldreuzic, Plonéour-Lanvern and Plobannalec-Lesconil as well as the Hôtel-Dieu of Pont-l’Abbé – are mobilizing . “People who wish to stop or reduce their tobacco or vaping consumption will be able to come and talk with health professionals trained in tobaccoology. The distribution of kits or nicotine substitutes will also be possible” , explain the professionals. Many activities are organized.

For the general public, free consultations are planned in health practices in Pouldreuzic (07 81 99 25 65 or 07 54 35 93 75) and in Penmarc’h, on November 8 and 22 at 07 81 99 25 65.

A support group for future parents is offered in Pouldreuzic (07 81 99 25 65).

Prevention stands are planned: November 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Leclerc in Pont-l’Abbé; November 10, at the Plobannalec football stadium; and on November 28 at the entrance to the Hôtel-Dieu.

Training in nicotine substitutes is offered to health professionals upon registration. Educational tools, flyers and posters are available on request. The Info Service Tabac site and the number 39 89 offer solutions and provide daily support.
