Stroke: a vital emergency and a public health issue

There are two types of Stroke:

  • The other when the vessel ruptures (Hemorrhagic stroke20% of cases).

In , approximately 150 000 AVC occur every year, either one every 4 minutes! Stroke is the leading cause of disability acquired in adults and second cause of dementia after Alzheimer’s disease.

It is essential to remember that a quarter of strokes affect people under the age of 65. Globally, one person suffers a stroke every five seconds. Rapid care: a vital necessity

Faced with the potentially serious consequences of stroke, early treatment is
crucial for limit functional after-effects.

Current treatments, such as intravenous thrombolysis (injection of a medicine that dissolves the clot to restore blood flow) or mechanical thrombectomy (surgical procedure during which a device is inserted into an artery to directly remove the clot), helps restore blood flow to the brain in the event of an ischemic stroke.

However, it is important to note that not all patients are eligible for these treatments, particularly due to ongoing treatments or medical history.
