10 days after being informed of a first case of Legionnaires’ disease at the Le Laurier seniors complex in Mirabel, which claimed the life of an 84-year-old resident, Laurentides public health is still trying to identify the source of the outbreak .

2 other cases have since been declared, and an investigation is underway at the Laurentides public health department.

Questioned by CIME, the organization maintains that samples have been taken and that the results are awaited.

Since then, Laurentides public health has had heat treatment carried out on the hot water system as a preventive measure.

She adds that residents were informed and met to provide them with information on what to do if they develop symptoms.

The City of Mirabel has also been made aware of these cases of Legionnaires’ disease, but specifies that this situation has nothing to do with the quality of the water in the municipal network.

Rather, it is a problem in the Le Laurier residence building.
