If your child has the habit of drinking from a metal bottle, it is time to check the brand and origin of this object. Indeed, several children’s water bottles from the Vilac brand were recalled this Friday because of “exceeding the authorized thresholds” concerning the presence of aluminum, according to the official Rappel Conso website.
The products concerned are two water bottles, one illustrated by Ingela P. Arrhenius and the other by Michelle Carlslund, two renowned children’s illustrators. Metal bottles were sold everywhere in France between June 26, 2021 and June 3, 2024. However, their use can be dangerous for the health of little ones.

A risk of “aluminum release”
In fact, the water bottles do not comply with MCDA regulations (materials placed in contact with foodstuffs). The health authorities have detected a potential “release of aluminum after contact with the acid”, details the Rappel Conso sheets.
Two days earlier, a first children’s bottle from the Vilac brand, called “École des mousses”, had been recalled for the same reason. Consumers are invited to no longer use these items and return them to the store for a refund. The recall procedure will end on October 30 and until then, consumer service is available at 03 84 42 00 58.
