Around a hundred events are planned this month as part of Pink October. The objective: to raise awareness of breast cancer screening and raise funds for organizations and associations.

Pink marches and sporting events

Among the main pink marches of the , we will find the fourth edition of the Boucles roses in Besançon this Sunday, October 6, with the Bregille fort as a starting point. The limit of 2,500 participants has been reached, but it is still possible to make a donation to the organizing association, Les Foulées Généreux, which will donate it in full to the Doubs Cancer League. Whether registered or not, visitors will also be able to access the health village installed in the fort to raise awareness of breast cancer screening. “The shuttle buses connecting the La Rodia car park and the fort are only accessible to those registered”, underlines project manager Julien Aubé “but access to the fort remains possible by bike and on foot”.

Other pink marches are planned in the department, among others in Audincourt on the morning of October 13, with the market square as a starting point; in Montbéliard on the 14th in the afternoon, from the headquarters of Pays de Montbéliard Agglomération; in Valentigney on the afternoon of the 16th, from the city center; and in Maîche on the 16th also from 7 p.m.

Other sporting events include a golf competition in Dampierre-sur-le-Doubs on October 20, a padel tournament in Grand-Charmont on October 12 and 13 and an archery day in Lorscourt on October 6 at the sports hall.

Dance and music

On Saturday October 12, the Franche-Comté Danse sportif association is organizing a pink ball at the Grand Kursaal in Besançon in tribute to people suffering from breast cancer. The public will first be invited to participate in the tea dance which will begin at 6 p.m. 30 then, at 8:30 p.m., 65 dancers will give a show including samba, rock, tango and salsa. Spectators will be able to join the dance again around 11 p.m. Places at a table are 20 euros, on a balcony at 15 euros, and at 5 euros for under 18s. Entrance includes a small meal. “And all of the profits will be donated to the League Against Cancer, whose volunteers will be present to raise awareness among the general public,” adds Yohann Bourdon, president of the association. Continuing the theme of music, the Boucles roses also give place to a concert on Thursday October 24 at the La Rodia club. The meeting is set for 8:30 p.m. with Pambelé, a group combining Afro-Colombian rhythms with the psychedelic sounds of the 60s with traditional drums, saxophone and guitar. It will also be possible to enjoy a before and after concert at the health village, where catering and musical entertainment will continue. Places, at 25 euros, can be reserved via the Boucles roses or La Rodia website. Elsewhere in the department, there will also be a “zumba party” in Fesches-le-Châtel on October 17 at 3 p.m., as well as two concert evenings in Colombier- on October 25 and 26, in their respective village halls.

Stands, workshops, conferences

Many municipalities in the department organize workshops or information stands entirely dedicated to the prevention of breast cancer and awareness of screening. Around ten will take place in Besançon, notably on October 9 at the Franche-Comté polyclinic, on the 15th at the Travail agency in Planoise from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and on the morning of October 22 at the Cusenier agency of Crédit Agricole .

In a more cultural register, in Pontarlier, in the Salle des Annonciades, the artist Johann Marmier will present a photographic exhibition titled Phototherapy until Saturday October 5. In Hérimoncourt, an exhibition is scheduled at the Medical Center on October 18.
