Nicole Barrière-Jahan and Jean-Pierre Deruelles are organizing an event next weekend in Cordes-sur-Ciel called “Meeting the sketchbook artists”. Remember that a sketchbook artist is a person who creates illustrations in the style of a travel diary. With little material, pencils, felt-tip pens, a box of water-based paints, a notebook, he sketches the places that inspire him. The city lends itself wonderfully well to this exercise. Saturday will be the day of sketching. Meet between 10 and 11 am under the market hall for all those who want to participate, no need to register, it is open to all. At midday, the royal garden will be the meeting point for a packed lunch (under the market hall in case of rain). From 5 pm, meeting at the Fonpeyrouse room, at 34 Grand rue Raimond VII, for a table runner of the notebooks and a friendly drink. On Sunday, around fifteen invited sketchbook artists will exhibit their works, still in the Fonpeyrouse room, and will interact with the public. Every month, meetings have been scheduled since the end of 2022 in the villages of the region to draw with the group “Urban sketchers Cordes-sur-Ciel et bastides”.
