Maxence Giboudot, best Frenchman after the 1st round in Limpopo

Nine French people made the long trip to South Africa for the opening tournament of the 2025 Challenge Tour season. At the end of the first round, former TCU player Maxence Giboudot (photo) is best placed.

The Jura Maxence Giboudot is back at Zebula Golf Estate & Spa in Limpopo, South Africa. Last year, he did not make the cut but this week he is on track to start his season on a better footing after a well-negotiated first round with a card of 68.

He is in 5th position, two strokes from the lead, but to make the cut he will have to avoid repeating the same mistakes as in 2024 when he followed his inaugural 69 with a crippling 75.

Three other tricolors returned cards under par. Sébastien Gros (-3), Felix Mory (-2) et Clement Sordet (-1).
