Many gamers are accusing Elon Musk of cheating and lying about his performance on “Path of Exile 2.” A streamer would have seen the character of the active billionaire… while the Tesla boss was at Donald Trump's inauguration.
A high-level gamer. This is how Elon Muk, the boss of X (ex-Twitter), often presents himself. The billionaire likes to point out that he is part of the world's top 20 on Diablo IV or that he excels on Path of Exile 2.
Words often questioned by the most experienced gamers, especially after his poor performance live on Twitch on January 7 on the role-playing game. Since then, players have tirelessly tried to find out if the billionaire is as talented as he suggests.
Images that speak for themselves
It was ultimately an American streamer who discovered the deception. Live on Twitch this January 20, content creator Quin69 noticed that one of the characters associated with Elon Musk's profile on Path of Exile 2 was online. However, at the same time, the billionaire was at Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony.
“Elon! How do you find yourself in the game right now, Elon? No, Elon, seriously, how? You're on the game map right now, level 96, but I can see you there,” says ironically the videographer, pointing to the live images of the inauguration.
And the streamer didn't stop there. During his live, he had fun following the character of Elon Musk in the game. All this, while following the inauguration ceremony, which regularly showed close-ups of the billionaire reacting to Donald Trump's speech .
-For gamers, there is no doubt: Elon Musk cannot be at the inauguration while playing Path of Exile 2 since the game can only be launched on PC. The richest man in the world would therefore have cheated by calling on another player to help him climb the ranking of the best players.
“Irrefutable proof”
His poor live performance on Path of Exile 2on January 7, had already alerted several experts. Indeed, during his game, several players noticed that Elon Musk was making “beginner” mistakes.
“He looks like a schoolboy doing a reading report on a book he has never read,” says one Internet user. “This has somehow become irrefutable proof that he is a fraud,” adds another. For most players, it then becomes undeniable that Elon Musk paid someone to improve his character's statistics for him.
The streamer FunKa also published a video detailing the inconsistencies in the games of the boss of X. For his part, Asmongold, another videographer, challenged Elon Musk to prove that he had reached this level himself. “Did Elon Musk play on this account up to level 97? The answer is very simple: no,” says the connoisseur.
A challenge that the main party did not really appreciate. The billionaire unsubscribed from Asmongold and made it lose its blue checkmark, the mark of authenticated accounts on the platform.
