Canadian Nick Taylor made a late and spectacular comeback to sign the fifth victory of his career on the PGA Tour on Sunday in Honolulu.

The 36-year-old was ranked fifth heading into the fourth round of the Sony Hawaii Open. His start to the course, with only one birdie and two bogeys in the first seven pennants, did not lead us to believe that Taylor would be one of the favorites for long.

The Manitoban, however, made a string of birdies, making four in a row between holes 8 to 11. It was even with an eagle at the 18th that he forced overtime with the Colombian Nico Echavarria. From the frieze of the green, he sent a superb 59-foot approach into the cut to achieve this par 5 in three shots.

After the two rivals recorded a birdie on the first overtime hole, Taylor decided by playing under par again, while Echevarria had to settle for par.

With his second consecutive card of 65, he finished the tournament at -16.

The Canadian won his two most recent tournaments, the 2023 Canadian Open and the 2024 Phoenix Open, in overtime.
