A new stage for in Cahors – Medialot

Important decisions taken during the general meeting of the Cahors Sports Association.

Although there is not yet a golf course in the Cadurcian urban area, the many fans of this sport have, for a dozen years, had the opportunity to train in this discipline on a “practice” located on the Cabessut sports plain. Its manager having decided to stop its activity at the end of this year, the future of this equipment was extremely compromised. Fortunately, an agreement was quickly reached between the City, owner of the facilities, and the Association Sportive Cahors Golf, the club recognized by the French federation of this discipline which already ran the practice in conjunction with its manager. Under the terms of this agreement, the City entrusts the management of the equipment to the association chaired by Régis Mellac and undertakes, in addition to its maintenance, to make a certain number of welcome improvements such as the installation of a putting green. synthetic highly anticipated by all practitioners. The club, for its part, will recruit, with the support of Prosport Lot, an employee responsible for reception and various tasks including daily ball collection. It will of course continue to offer its members regular activities, outings and participation in golf competitions throughout the year. A final step was nevertheless necessary to ratify this agreement, its approval by the general assembly of the Cahors Golf Sports Association. This has been done since December 12 and it is with enthusiasm that the sixty members gathered at the Maison des Associations approved the project. This win-win agreement between the City and the association is exemplary since it prevents a sporting practice from disappearing from the Cadurcian urban area. A final challenge remains for Cahors Golf, recruiting a part-time golf teacher to, in particular, run and develop the golf school.
