Unsurprisingly and even before the end of the 2024 LPGA Tour season scheduled for November 24, Nelly Korda was elected Rolex Player of the Year 2024. It is indeed difficult to award the prize to someone else when you have won six tournaments this year, including a Major!

Well deserved! The price of Rolex Player of the Year 2024 on the LPGA was unsurprisingly awarded to Nelly Kordaundisputed world number 1 with an average of 11.81 points, almost 4.50 points difference with her runner-up and former player of the year 2023, Lily Vu

« Winning Female Golfer of the Year means a lot to medeclared the American, daughter of the former Czech tennis player, Petr Korda. This season has been full of highlights and challenges, and I'm truly grateful to the people around me who have helped me get to this point. It is the result of teamwork and I am proud to share this moment with them. »

Nelly Korda is the 27th different player to win this award since its inception in 1966. Her 2024 season has been nothing short of breathtaking, despite the fact that there are still three tournaments left on the calendar, including the CME Group Tour Championshipthe Tour final (November 21-24) with $11 million.

A more difficult summer…

She has won six tournaments and ranked three times in the top 10. After her tied 16th place opening on January 21 at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of ChampionsKorda then scored five consecutive successes: LPGA Drive On Championship, FIR HILLS SERI PAK Championship, Ford Championship presented by KCC, T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards et The Chevron Championshiphis second career Major. Before bouncing back brilliantly the following May 19 at Mizuho Americas Open.

After three missed cuts in a row, including two in Majors (US Women’s Open et KPMG Women’s PGA Championship), she settled for 26th place in Evian at the end of mid-July before finishing 2nd in the AIG Women’s Open then 5th of Kroger Queen City on September 22.

Wounded in the neck, Nelly Korda, who had meanwhile participated in the victory in Virginia of the United States at the Solheim Cup (September 12-15), did not participate this year in the end-of-season Asian tour but should return to competition for the Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican (November 14-17) before continuing in Naples (Florida) at the very lucrative CME Group Tour Championship. Who knows if a new victory will not crown an almost unchallenged season here!
