The price of tickets for the next Ryder Cup in Bethpage next September, revealed this Monday, provoked the ire of observers.

N.C.

Before even mentioning the prohibitive price of places, you must already obtain the right to obtain them!

Like the Olympic Games, the organizing committee for the next Ryder Cup has set up a lottery system to be able to access the ticket office.

Thus, a person wishing to go to Bethpage Black from September 23 to 28 must start by registering online before October 22 (here). A draw will then take place in November and those selected will be able to accept at the ticket office to purchase their tickets for the 45th Ryder Cup.

$3123 per week

If these steps have not discouraged you, the price of the places offered to attend the event does not encourage you to participate.

For training games on Tuesday and Wednesday, the price displayed is 225$ (206€). On Thursday the amount reached 423$ (€387). It is on this day that the celebrity match, the Junior Ryder Cup Exhibition and the opening ceremony will take place.

But to attend the competition itself from Friday to Sunday, you will have to pay 750$or €688, per day!

Thus, a person who does not want to miss anything from Tuesday to Sunday on the course will have to pay a sum of 3123$ (2863€), taking the least expensive places.

For comparison, tickets for the last edition in Rome were sold between 49€ to 254€ in Rome.

Needless to say, many Internet users and observers were shocked by these prices, which were deemed unacceptable.

If some of them made it known with humor on social networks, it would not be surprising if this caused more resentment among the players who remember that they do not receive any money…
