The objectives, although realistic, were largely exceeded for the new non-profit organization ensuring the relaunch of the Chute-aux-Outardes club.

Remember that in May, a last chance meeting was held to determine the future of the municipality’s golf course.

“We couldn’t buy the golf course and become owners. […] We started a non-profit organization and from that moment on, there were several people who decided to work as a team to keep golf playing. We therefore created a board of directors,” explains Mathieu Ouellet, vice-president of the board of directors.

Everything happened quickly. The golf course opened its greens on 1is June.

“It’s certain that when we opened the golf course, it was late. We can’t say that it was a beautiful golf course, it was a pretty nice golf course, I must admit. But today, three months later, we saved our golf course,” rejoices Mr. Ouellet.

“There is a nice evolution. […] We had a lot of people during the summer. We were open all summer, 7 days a week, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.,” he adds.

The organization received help from everywhere throughout the summer, not only to ensure operations, but also to maintain the grounds.

“We managed to save the club thanks to our sponsors, our members, our volunteers and all the customers. […] We are set for the next few years,” says Mathieu Ouellet.
