N3: “I hope my goal will show the way to our attackers,” confides Lannion FC goalkeeper, Baptiste Davaï, after equalizing against Plabennec

N3 (2nd day). Fougères – Lannion, this Saturday (6 p.m.)

How did you feel when you scored that goal?

It’s a pretty exceptional feeling that I’m not used to having. I’m especially very happy for the team. It allowed us not to lose this first match and to reward all our efforts made since the preparation. Before being a goalkeeper, I was an outfield player at Rospez from U9 to U12. This is the second goal that I’ve scored as a goalkeeper. I had already scored with the Lannion FC B team, four seasons ago, against Pleubian.

I’m starting my third season as a starter and I think it’s going to be a potentially complicated exercise due to the number of relegations which is quite significant (four relegations or more). In addition, we’re getting back three Normandy teams that we don’t know, as well as three professional reserves including two new ones (Guingamp, Lorient), in addition to Rennes. We have a good group with good recruits who have integrated well. And we’ve kept a good structure. It’s important to have a good start to the championship. So, this trip to Fougères will be a good indicator for our start to the championship because last season, we didn’t travel very well. We’re going to have to be solid at the back and I hope my goal will show the way to our attackers, because otherwise… They might hear me.

What are your personal ambitions?

It’s about playing at the highest possible level, without setting limits for myself and preferably with Lannion FC.
