A former ice hockey player who died yesterday as a victim of a homicide that happened on Sunday Janne Puhakka told the public openly about his relationship with his Norwegian spouse.
According to Yle’s information, the spouse in question is 66 years old Rolf Nordmota is suspected of Puhaka’s murder. The identity of the suspect was first reported by Ilta-Sanomat based on its own information.
The police confirm to Yle that the act is being investigated as a murder. Iltalehti first reported on the change of the crime title from manslaughter to murder. The suspected murder took place at the couple’s home in Espoo.
Puhakka tells about his and Risto Pakarinen written in a book published in 2022 Out of the booth (Johnny Kniga) that he first met a man 37 years older when he played in Canada between 2013 and 2015.

Nordmo has published pictures on social media in which he appears with a hunting gun and a hunting dog.
The couple lived together in Henttaa, Espoo, in a semi-detached house, which is located on a rented plot in the city. Puhakka owned half of the apartment and Nordmo owned the other half.

The book says that Puhakka initially did not want him and Nordmo to be presented as a couple, because he was afraid of revealing the relationship.

The couple moved in together in 2019 in Helsinki. Around the same time, Puhakka spoke openly about his homosexuality in an interview with Helsingin Sanomat.
Trained as a veterinarian, Rolf Nordmo has also given interviews to Norwegian media, including the local newspaper Trønder-Avisa in 2019. In the story, he talks about the twists and turns that have happened in his life.

Born in Espoo, Puhakka once played professional hockey. In the 2015–16 season, he played 40 regular season games in the SM league club Blues.
He still played in the 2017–2018 season in France, after which he ended his hockey career.
