Agafay Football 2024, imagined by Fouad Ben Kouider, president of the Ben Kouider Group, and his wife Nawel Debbouze, was not just a simple sporting event. The objective was twofold: to entertain and raise awareness among young people and children about water conservation. “Morocco, like many other countries, is experiencing this problem which impacts its population and its ecosystem. Our objective is therefore to serve as a lever for raising awareness around a vital cause, while making the dreams of young Moroccans come true by allowing them to meet their favorite stars.“, declared the Belgian businessman of Moroccan origin.
In collaboration with the Zakoura Foundation, a visit to the Douar El Jerf primary school allowed children from the region to meet the stars present while participating in an educational session on climate issues and the importance of water.

The day culminated in a gala match which pitted the “Team of Heroes”, made up of emblematic football figures like Christian Karembeu, Robert Pirès, Samir Nasri and Sidney Govou and celebrities like Cyril Gane and Redouane Bougherba, against the “Team Morocco”. The latter, made up of local stars like Noureddine Naybet, Jaouad Zaïri, Asmaa Lmnawar and Asmae Khamlichi, welcomed former players from the Kawkab Athletic Club of Marrakech and residents of the region. Everything took place on a plot of land in the heart of the Agafay desert, under the gaze of more than 500 spectators.

Agafay Football 2024 has left a significant social footprint in the region. In addition to raising awareness among young people of ecological issues, the event allowed a real exchange between the stars and the inhabitants of the surrounding villages. Photos, autographs and moments of conviviality marked this day.
This first event was a total success, both sportingly and socially. The initiative made it possible to promote solidarity while responding to a current issue, that of water preservation. A meeting which, without a doubt, could become an unmissable annual event in Morocco.
