Honfleur. Transdev takes the keys to the urban bus service!

Kéolis… it’s almost over! The private passenger transport operator which until now provided the urban bus service in Honfleur () will be replaced from 1is January 2025, by the Transdev group.

The latter has, in fact, won the concession which grants the management and operation of the HO Bus service for a period of 5 years. The two companies were the last two candidates in a procedure started in the first quarter of 2024: “Each offer included a basic offer which included the current service without changing lines or frequency, and a variant offer offering opportunities for development, recalls Martine Houssaye, vice-president in charge of transport. After an in-depth analysis, we decided to retain Transdev’s basic offer for an amount of €3,946,839 over five years, or €789,367 per year. »

Change in continuity

An annual amount higher than that paid in 2024 to Kéolis (€709,000) but which can be explained by something new: the development of ticketing (all the means using IT and electronics in transport tickets). “This new system will make it easier for users to access and pay for the service as well as line monitoring. Previously, we knew the number of journeys but not their attendance. »

For the rest, no changes: “The lines and ticket prices remain unchanged. Timetables and stopping points will not change. As for the decoration of the buses, it remains the same. » If HO Bus is supported by the CCPHB as part of its mobility competence, the city of Honfleur, which is the only one to benefit from the urban bus service, makes its contribution to the tune of €580,000.

To develop its public transport network more widely across its territory, the CCPHB will soon launch a call for tenders concerning transport on demand (TAD): “The service, which is included in our Simplified Mobility Plan, should be operational by June 2025.”
