Creusot/Montceau – To the health of the Magic and the Capitole

We have heard everything, read everything about the projects for the two cinemas in and Montceau-les-Mines. Between those with excessive lightness and others with harsh criticism, this day of October 4, 2024 will silence the most skeptics even though they will not fail to criticize since it is in their DNA.

In any case, the mayor of Le Creusot and president of the urban community, David Marti and the mayor of Montceau-les-Mines, Marie-Claude Jarrot, against all odds and without the slightest misunderstanding, concluded an alliance to jointly lead the construction projects of the Le Magic complex in Le Creusot and Le Capitole in Montceau-les-Mines.

Thus, together, first in front of the Embarcadère, on the banks of the Canal du Center then at the Riaux plain, that is to say Mach 2, they laid the first stone under the gaze of the bearer of the two cinemas, Régis Faure who just recalled that “it was which invented cinema” and, above all, to make it clear “that it is the agent of the public (not public money, the nuance is important) which makes it possible to finance these two cinema complexes.”

“These two projects are closely linked, one cannot be done without the other and vice versa with a single operator,” said Marie-Claude Jarrot.

And even if the towns of Le Creusot and Montceau-les-Mines contribute financially, respectively €2 million and €1.7 million, “this is money invested for the attractiveness of our territory” assured David Marti who saw a intangible link with the inauguration of Hub&go the day before or the arrival of Jimmy (construction of nuclear thermal generators) in Coriolis or the fact that Framatome is expanding its land to build future EPRs, third generation nuclear reactors.

“We have to keep these people who come to work with us. Cinemas will play a determining role,” the president of the CUCM said with conviction.

Such a beautiful day deserved to toast the health of both cinemas.

“Well here we are, we’ve arrived there” said David Marti upon his arrival in front of the Montceau-les-Mines pier for the laying of the first stone.
