Born on April 16, 1952 in , Michel Blanc grew up in a modest environment, the son of a moving father and an accountant mother. He began his career in the 1970s with the Splendid troupe.playing the famous Jean-Claude Dusse in “Les Bronzés” and participating in successes of French cinema.

After playing comedic roles, he proved himself with directors such as Bertrand Tavernier and Roman Polanski. In 1984, he met with great success with “Marche à l’ombre”his first film as director. He breaks taboos with “Evening Wear” (1986), where he played a moving character, rewarded with a prize at . In the 2000s, he moved towards drama with “Kiss Whoever You Want” and in 2012 received the César for Best Supporting Actor for “The Exercise of the State”.
