David Barnea, the spymaster behind the elimination of Hassan Nasrallah

PORTRAIT – With around thirty years of service in Israeli foreign intelligence, he devoted a large part of his energy to fighting the mullahs’ Iran and its Lebanese armed wing, Hezbollah.

Already amply equipped with incredible operations, the legend of Mossad, the Israeli foreign secret service, has just been enriched with a new page. The assassination of Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah as well as the elimination of the entire military command of the Lebanese Shiite organization, during an aerial bombardment of the Dahiya district south of Beirut, crowned a dozen of years of work by the intelligence agency. And it bears the signature of its director: David Barnea.

At the head of the Mossad since the 1is June 2021, appointed by Benjamin Netanyahu, this 59-year-old seasoned agent has spent nearly thirty years in this service.
