Jean-Baptiste Boursier becomes Gilles Bouleau’s joker for the 20 Hours of TF1

He replaces Julien Arnaud, who left to host “Télématin” in duo with Flavie Flament on 2.

TF1 found the new joker in Gilles Bouleau during the presentation of the 8 p.m. news. Early on Wednesday October 2 in the afternoon, Thierry Thuillier, the deputy general director of information for the TF1 group, formalized at an editorial conference the appointment of Jean-Baptiste Boursier to this position. Having arrived within the TF1 group for a year to host the LCI morning show, the journalist will replace Julien Arnaud, who left to host a duo with Flavie Flament “Télématin” on France 2. According to Le Parisien, the journalist will take up his new position from October 21, for the All Saints’ Day holidays.

At almost 42 years old, Jean-Baptiste Boursier already has a busy career. Trained in radio on France Bleu and Chérie FM, worked on local (TV ), he joined iTélé (now CNews) before moving to BFMTV in 2011. At the head of the evening and weekend sections, he also hosted special evenings such as the World Cup in 2018. The journalist also worked for France Télévisions, presenting “Dimanche en France” on France 3. But he finally returned to BFMTV before joining LCI.

Since the announcement at the end of August of Julien Arnaud’s departure, Thierry Thuillier had received “ around ten applications, internal and external, from all backgrounds »he explained in the columns of Le Figaro a few weeks ago. The news boss had indicated his preference for in-house recruitment. “I think an internal application will be preferred. This is an opportunity to grow in-house talents », he confided. “We are looking for a presenter who is anything but learned, close to his audience, who supports viewers in their daily lives which are not always easy, who provides them with information to improve their daily lives and enlighten them.
