FOOTBALL – Sad news for Blues supporters. Antoine Griezmann announced this Monday, September 30, via a video broadcast on his social networks, that he will no longer wear the France team jersey.
From 2014 to 2024, the Atlético Madrid player was capped 137 times and scored 44 goals with the Blues. He also made 30 assists, the record in this area, which could however soon be beaten by Kylian Mbappé, today at 29.
“Today, it is with deep emotion that I announce my retirement as a player for the France team. After ten incredible years, marked by challenges, successes and unforgettable moments, it is time for me to turn a page and make way for the new generation”says Antoine Griezmann in his video of just under two minutes, in voice-over on images retracing his good times with the France team, whether on the pitch or in the privacy of Clairefontaine.

A major trophy
Antoine Griezmann will have won a major trophy with the Blues: the 2018 World Cup organized in Russia. He will also have participated in the lost final of 2022 against Argentina in Qatar, as well as in the lost final of Euro 2016 against Portugal in France.
