Synopsis:
The discovery of the body of a brilliant biologist, found with his throat slit in Cayenne after a hot evening at the Touloulous Balls, led Captain Cassandra Molba (Nadège Beausson-Diagne) and his lieutenant Antoine Lagarde (Philippe Caroit) to investigate. The two investigators are plunged into a dark story of a stolen patent against a backdrop of Native American legends, myths and Guyanese traditions.
Murders in Cayenne : an exotic investigation but which lacks rhythm
With a filming in Guyana (Awala-Yalimapo, Cayenne, Iles-du-Salut, Mana), a scenario of Sabine Dabadie And Apsita Berthelot-Cisséan image ofEtienne Saldesa montage of Nicolas Pechitchoriginal music by Krishoo and Christophe Monthieux — plus titles My other self by Karnivor And Love mo Lagwiyann by Patko — and an achievement of Marc Barrat, Murders in Cayenne is therefore an episode of the collection Murders in… which begins with the assassination of a metropolitan, during a ball in Guyana, against a backdrop of pharmaceutical research, gold mining, a painter forger, a former convict and Touloulous at masked balls.
And to solve this criminal case, Nadège Beausson-Diagne takes on the role of the strong-willed captain in charge of the investigation. To assist him, Philippe Caroit slips into the shoes of a more relaxed lieutenant who likes to party. Classic opposition game therefore for the construction of this pair but this will nevertheless very quickly prove to be unsuccessful with a hesitation, in the plot, to install or not a game of seduction between them.
Likewise, implausibilities in their professional behavior — arriving at a crime scene completely disheveled or eating and drinking coffee in the morgue while listening to the medical examiner’s report (Georges Fichet) — do not help make it credible either.

If the beautiful and exotic images of Guyana and its traditions offer a great escape, the detective TV film Murders in Cayenne However, it lacks spark in its duo and a more twisted and rhythmic storyline.
