In this biographical drama adapted from the book The Gucci Saga by Sara Gay Forden, published in 2001, its director Ridley Scott (to whom we recently owe Napoleonone of the most criticized films by the press and spectators in 2023) traces the turbulent history of the Gucci empire marked by the assassination in 1995 of the heir to the luxury brand: Maurizio Gucci. She particularly talks about her relationship with Lady Gaga, with whom she shares a rather acid sequence in Ridley Scott’s film: “I found her to be quite caring. She explained to me that she was very focused on her character to be as warm as she wanted and was used to. So it was quite delicate, that’s it. She told me at the end of the film that she could be as she wanted to be because I think she’s someone very caring and very human…“Conversely, Adam Driver was warmer towards her, as she explains: “He was a very good friend. He saw that I was a little lost sometimes, so he told me, “Don’t worry, I’ll explain it to you again later.”‘”, she recalls.
