Four days after letting Le Rousseau, 21, steal the bronze medal in the individual pursuit, Le Cunff was imperious to win a new Paralympic gold medal, three years after the one in the road race in Tokyo. The two runners are competing in the C4 category, intended for para-athletes with a tibial amputation, severe leg damage, or mild damage to all four limbs and the trunk. Le Cunff has two club feet and an atrophied calf, while Le Rousseau has paralysis of the levators of both feet.
