The C8 talk show seems more ready than ever to start its return. As proof, in recent days, communication operations have multiplied, sometimes targeting their colleagues, sometimes the audiovisual regulator.

D-1 before the return of “Touche pas à mon poste!”. And the C8 talk show did not fail to remind on social networks of its upcoming return to the air. Throughout the summer, the show’s team made a point of posting past sequences of the show and then organizing a countdown of the days a week before the big day.

And if their communication plan was intended to be relatively classic – sharing a countdown on photos of Cyril Hanouna -, it has radically evolved since last Tuesday. Indeed, six days before the resumption of talk shows on TNT channels, “Quotidien”, the TMC show competing with “TPMP”, launched hostilities by unveiling its promotional campaign which is based on criticisms issued by the C8 program against Yann Barthès, the presenter, and certain columnists.

A snub to Arcom

The Canal+ group did not remain impassive in the face of these barbs and responded in the same tone. After the re-sharing of two modified visuals of “Quotidien”, “Touche pas à mon poste!” stood out and created its own visuals. But still following the model of their competitor, namely an image of a columnist on a gray background accompanied by a quote. Only, these are no longer the faces of TMC but indeed those of the emblematic columnists of “TPMP”. Gilles Verdez, Valérie Bénaïm and Raymond Aabou are all smiles with, above their heads, some of their cult lines turned into derision. “We are the ones who are paying”, “They are not my friends” or even “Same as Geraldine”Internet users were able to read.

These visuals, posted daily since Tuesday, August 27, are interspersed between the countdown before the show resumes. Also added to this publication schedule is a short video in the form of a teaser. It is also intended to be a parody. This time, it is not “Quotidien” that is targeted but Arcom. From the first seconds, we see Eliot Deval, journalist at CNews and Pascal Praud’s joker, announcing the headlines by repeating the media information of the summer: “In the news this morning, Arcom has chosen not to renew the frequency of C8, the first DTT channel.”

Very quickly, the image blurs and a series of references to the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games appear. From the mysterious torchbearer adept at the course, to the pink feathers worn by Lady Gaga, to the “C8 delegation” aboard a boat on the Seine or Aya Nakamura dancing in a gold outfit on the Pont des Arts, it’s all there. The end of the clip gives viewers an appointment on Monday, September 2 from 6 p.m. “for an incredible Darka”The show promises to “an exceptional return”.

Furthermore, this passage strangely echoes the back-to-school teaser for “C à vous” shared on August 29 by Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine’s team. The latter also made reference to major moments of the Olympic Games with, among other things, the masked torchbearer. The teams of “TPMP” and “C à vous” apparently had the same idea of parodying the Olympics.
