A shooting broke out in the Kennedy district of Montargis this Saturday early afternoon. The result: one dead and one seriously injured, whose prognosis is in danger.

The Kennedy district in Montargis was the scene of a tragedy on Saturday, August 31. A shooting broke out early in the afternoon at 46 avenue De-Lattre-de-Tassigny, “at a very well-known drug sales point,” said Montargis prosecutor Jean-Cédric Gaux.

The shooting resulted in the death of a man “around 30 or 40 years old,” he added.

Another man was also seriously injured by the same shots. After being treated at Montargis hospital, he was transported to the Orléans University Hospital. His life is in danger, the prosecution confirmed.

The Montargis public prosecutor’s office has also contacted the Orléans judicial police, the prosecutor added.

This is not the first time that the avenue has been affected by problems of violence against a backdrop of drug trafficking.

Last January, shots were fired inside a building on the same avenue.
