DECRYPTION – The government wants to impose a contribution of 1 billion euros on air transport. The sector has not said its last word.
A billion euros. The air transport sector is stunned by the level of additional taxes that the government wants to impose on it with the finance bill (PLF). Eight hundred and fifty million euros would hit airlines with the increase in the Chirac tax on plane tickets. A tripling of this levy officially called TSBA (solidarity tax on plane tickets). In addition, 150 million would affect business aviation. A surplus which could amount to 3000 euros for a passenger on a flight of more than 5000 km in a jet. These devices could come into force on 1is January or 1is April with retroactive effect.
