“The world no. 1 in electric and hybrid vehicles sets up shop in Niort”

French motorists do not yet know BYD well, introduce us to this manufacturer?

BYD has become the world leader in electric and hybrid vehicles in terms of sales.

This Asian company has specialized, since its creation in 1995, in the battery sector which equips a large number of automobile brands that you already know.
In 2003, BYD decided to expand its activity by also producing electric and hybrid vehicles, therefore benefiting from great maturity in battery technology.

Is its presence in France recent?

Indeed, the first dealerships saw the light of day in 2022. The Autosphere Group has already opened 2 BYD dealerships in La Teste-de-Buch and Poitiers. That of Niort is therefore the third in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region and the 40th in France.

Where is it located?

We are located in Niort, in place of the Peugeot dealership which moved a few meters further into the Automobile village.
The dealership opened during the September open house and is already attracting quite a few people who are interested in the range and quality of finish of the vehicles.

And after-sales is not left out since BYD dealerships provide on-site maintenance and repair of vehicles with technicians trained in all these new technologies.

How many vehicles does the BYD range consist of?

The BYD range today offers 100% electric vehicles, from city cars to 7-seater family SUVs, including high-performance and high-end sedans.

We start with the BYD Dolphin, the spacious city car for urban use with a range of 427 km and go up to sedans (BYD Seal and BYD Han) and SUVs (BYD Atto 3, BYD Seal U and BYD Tang) offering autonomy levels of up to 500 km depending on the model.

Our utility vehicle, the ETP3, has a range of 220 km and a capacity of 3.5 cubic meters and is extremely well equipped: heated seat, integrated GPS, etc.

But the big news is the entry into the range of a first innovative plug-in hybrid vehicle, with low fuel consumption, offering up to 1080 km of autonomy: the BYD Seal U DM-i.

This new DM technology (for Dual Motors) offers responsible driving with low fuel consumption, and that makes a difference!

The BYD brand will quickly offer us other vehicles with this DM technology for the French market and other nice surprises during the Paris Motor Show from October 15 to 20.

In which price segment is the manufacturer positioned?

BYD is a brand that offers a high-end finish level, comparable to certain German finishes with very attractive pricing.
Everyone who passes through the showroom door is pleasantly surprised by the lines, finishes and value for money.

Another particularity of the BYD brand is that almost all of our equipment is standard. In fact, we only offer two types of finishes with a variant that can be linked to one or two additional pieces of equipment and/or battery used.

How long will you have to wait to receive your car?

The brand’s strategy in Europe is to have stocks to offer a wide choice across the breadth of the range and thus reduce delivery times.
The choice is also to have few finishes, 2 per model, and a complete level of equipment to meet all customer needs.

How do customers receive these products?

We have a curiosity from people who do not know BYD but also from people who were impatiently awaiting the opening of a dealership in Niort because they are already well aware of the maturity of the brand on a global level and the quality of the products. .

It’s simple; one in two customers who test our vehicles are convinced and make their purchase plan a reality. It’s really a brand to discover.
