Reem Kherici was the guest of journalist Jacques Pessis on February 13, 2024, in the show The keys to a life on South Radio. During this interview, the filmmaker made several confidences about the shooting of the film Paris at all costshis very first production, with Tarek Boudali and Philippe Lacheau, released in July 2013 at the cinema. “It was a bet! What an experience! What luck! How lucky I was to be able to find my way through a poker game.”she confided about the making of her first feature film, and added: “I found myself able, through a misunderstanding, to find an attractive pitch which was Paris at all costs. […] And there, I make a gamble, I talk to the producer about itOSS 117 that’s interested. I told him I wanted to write it, direct it and star in it.” The producer then accepted her conditions and made sure that she would be well supported to be able to make her first film. This opportunity was a real turning point in his career.

In Paris at all costsbroadcast Sunday October 13, 2024 at 9:10 p.m. on W9, Reem Kherici plays the role of Maya, a young woman who was deported to Morocco, her country of origin, following a check on her papers which had expired. The filmmaker then wanted the sequences of her film to be as realistic as possible and she therefore decided that the taxi her character took when arriving in her country “represents the taxis that we may encounter from time to time in Morocco and which drive very badly”. However, she didn’t expect the actor to take his role so seriously…”The actor in question took the role very seriously and gave me the text without looking at the road. And I said to him: ‘In front of you, in front of you!’, he thought I was playing well, but I just told him that in front of us, there was a 4×4 coming in front of us”she told on the air, and concluded: “And we hit the 4×4 head on and I had the camera explode in my forehead. I had a bump the size of a saucepan. It took up my entire forehead and the volume overflowed by five centimeters. It was huge.”
