Washington actively supports Israel’s defense and such an attack would have serious consequences for Iran, the senior US official said.
The United States has indications that Iran is preparing to launch a ballistic missile attack against Israel imminently, a senior White House official said Tuesday.
“A direct military attack by Iran against Israel would have serious consequences for Iran”said a senior White House official, reports the BBC, adding that the United States supports “defensive preparations to defend Israel against this attack”.

Israel is ready against any Iranian attack but no threat has been identified at this time, an Israeli army spokesperson said on Tuesday. In a video address to the nation, Netanyahu said Israel was “in the midst of a campaign against the Iranian axis of evil.” He also asked Israelis to “take into account the security instructions that would be given by the army’s home front command” and to “stay united”.
