The moment of truth has arrived for Michel Barnier. This Tuesday, October 1st, the Prime Minister is expected at the National Assembly to deliver his general policy speech. “We are going to support Michel Barnier, we will help him bring a policy of change,” says the boss of the LR deputies in the hemicycle, Laurent Wauquiez, speaking to Thomas Sotto on RTL this Tuesday.
While the question of the budget will be the major project of the new Prime Minister, Laurent Wauquiez assures that “the priority is to reduce spending”.
While Gérald Darmanin considers any tax increase as a red line not to be crossed, Laurent Wauquiez believes that there is “a shocking side to see former ministers in charge for 7 yearswho have largely contributed to the catastrophic budgetary situation we are in, give advice to a new Prime Minister.”
