For wages, employment and public services. Several unions (including the CGT, the FSU, Solidaires) are calling for a strike and taking to the streets on Tuesday October 1, 2024 for a day of multi-sector mobilization. They demand more funding for public services, the repeal of pension reform and a law that indexes salaries to prices.
“The political fragility of the government is a point of support for achieving concrete progress,” writes the CGT. The date of October 1 was not chosen at random: it was chosen before the start of discussions on the State budget and Social Security in the National Assembly.
Teachers’ strike
Beyond national demands, each branch has its own claims. Unions in the hospital sector, for example, are calling for the revaluation of the index point, those in social organizations are calling for the tenure of employees on precarious contracts, while those in early childhood are calling for consideration of the arduous nature of the work.
In Brittany, 20 events are organized. Here are the different dates of the processions. Demonstrations which will cause disruptions in public services: certain teachers will, for example, be on strike and minimum reception services will be put in place in certain schools.
