Algerian columnist Mehdi Ghezzar’s violent insults towards Morocco unleash the web – Telquel.ma

“rogue state”, “settler state”, “thugocracy”… Mehdi Ghazzar did not lack insulting qualifiers against Morocco on Sunday, August 25, during his intervention on the Algerian channel AL24. During a one-and-a-half-hour program, the Kingdom was the target of numerous attacks by the Algerian columnist.

The first concerns the violent altercation that took place between Moroccan and Algerian diplomats on August 24, during the Tokyo International Conference on African Development. Referring to the Moroccan representative’s attempt to remove the Polisario Front’s placard, Mehdi Ghazzar described the Kingdom’s diplomat as “pseudo human being”, and said he was “very happy that this rogue state [le Maroc]that this diplomatic thuggery be humiliated before the whole world”. He finally concluded his speech by addressing the Kingdom “colonial state”and that it would be “It is an insult to diplomacy to say that Morocco has a diplomatic apparatus.”

The columnist continued his insults on the ground of the war in Gaza, claiming that “The Moroccan Kingdom has issued a decree banning pro-Gaza demonstrations, talking about the victims of Gaza on television, radio and in mosques”According to him, the decree was inspired by Israel. “It’s a country [Le Maroc] who feeds on Zionist flies of continuous disinformation”he shouted. Then, when the presenter of the show asserts “The real initiator of this decree is André Azoulay”advisor to King Mohammed VI, Mehdi Ghazzar says with a knowing air ” Ah good ? “.

French MP Eric Ciotti (Les Républicains), close to Morocco, reacted to these accusations, asking RMC to « suspend immediately« .

Then, returning to the royal pardon of the 4,800 farmers prosecuted or convicted in cases of illegal cannabis cultivation, Mehdi Ghazzar declared that the “cherifian regime” would be a “Failed State”.

Morocco would have become not only the “safe haven for war criminals”but also “big drug dealers, people involved in prostitution, pedophilia, child kidnapping, the list is very long”listed the columnist. “You want to steal a child, there are some. You want to rape a child, there are some. You want to buy drugs, there are some. You want prostitution, there are some. This is anything but a Muslim country.”he hammered home. He finally concluded by comparing the Kingdom to the “Thailand of Africa”Or “everything can be bought.”

Finally, Algerian viewers were able to hear the columnist accuse Morocco of destabilizing relations between Egypt and Algeria. He describes the actions he suspects of as “trickery”. He ends his diatribe by declaring: “It’s small”, “but it’s at the level of this State (…) it doesn’t surprise me”.

While his interventions unleash passions on X, all the columnist’s social networks seem to have been cut off.
