Auda. This waterfront will soon be unrecognizable, the construction site is progressing very quickly!

This is the project of the year Narbonne-beachin Aude. Launched several months ago, the work around the Terrasses de la Mer is starting to bear fruit. THE makeover of the seafront is already remarkable. The objective, for the City of Narbonne, is to “create a territorial identity and an original signature for the resort”.

At the start of the year, the municipality shared several photos which suggest great progress, a few months after the renovation of Boulevard de la Méditerranée. If there is still work to be done, the work is progressing well to the delight of those who use the place.

Delivery before next summer

If the construction schedule is respected, the “new” waterfront should be operational before summer 2025. In any case, this is what was announced at the launch of the major maneuvers last September.

Imposing palm trees of approximately 5 meters have already been planted. They will be accompanied by monumental planters 25 meters, but also seats that can already be seen. Big ones pergolas shaded areas are also already visible on the seafront. The revegetation is expected to continue in the coming weeks. A modular space for events is also planned.

A 13 million euro project

13 million euros were invested by the City of Narbonne as part of the project for the new heart of Narbonne-Plage (Boulevard de la Méditerranée and Terrasses de la Mer). The pedestrian esplanadewhich stretches 200 meters long and 45 meters wide, will soon be unrecognizable.

This major project is supported by Greater Narbonne, the State (Littoral XXI fund), the Water Agency and the Department of Aude.
