Who said Marvel and its blockbusters weren't ecological? For some time now, the studio has opted for a recycling strategy by making new things out of old things. Also, despite their departure in 2019 after EndgameRobert Downey Jr and Chris Evans will soon return to the MCU for a new film Avengers. Likewise, in a few weeks, it's the series Daredevil which will have the right to a sequel, seven years after its end.
A comeback out of nowhere
But that's not all. We recently learned, Disney+ will soon produce a series centered on Vision, still played by Paul Bettany, in a plot that will follow on from the series WandaVision (2021). According to the first details, we will follow him fighting to regain his memory and his humanity after being initially killed by Thanos in 2018.
A moderately exciting project on paper, which will be the scene of the most improbable return in all of Marvel. According to information from Deadline, the actor Faran Tahir will take advantage of this to resume its role as Raza.
You have no idea who this actor/character is? It's normal, it's been 17 years since we last saw him on screen. And for good reason, presented as the leader of the terrorist group Ten Rings in Iron Man released in 2008 (the one that locked Tony Stark in the cave), Raza was mostly left for dead at the end of the film, betrayed by Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges). From there to thinking that this creative choice was put in place after a lost bet…
-No hype among fans
And inevitably, this return is so unexpected that it leaves many Marvel fans skeptical today. Rather than being hyped by this wink, they admit to being worried by the evolution of the MCU.
“Literally no one would have noticed and made the connection if they had seen it in Vision without it being presented as a big comeback. With no disrespect to the actor, his character had no impact on the entire MCU since Iron Man“, we can read on Twitter, just like, “I see that we start to collect funds“or again”But why? There are so many other secondary people who are more important and who can have a real impact, but they keep releasing random stuff“.
For the moment, we do not yet know what importance Raza will have on screen. Will he be the new big bad of history (knowing that Ultron, by James Spader, will also be present)? Will it be a simple cameo during a flashback scene? To be continued.
