It was 4:17 a.m. when the Pas-de-Calais firefighters were dispatched to the town of Wingles. 35 men and numerous vehicles intervened in one of the homes on rue du Pronet, engulfed in flames.

When they arrived on site, two victims had already come out of their home, which was completely engulfed in flames. They would later discover another victim who brought the human toll of this fire to three dead and two injured, two boys aged 11 and 12 transported in an emergency to the Hospital Center.

To put out the flames, three lances were needed. If a police investigation is underway to identify the three deceased people, according to initial information from our colleagues at Voix du , it would be a mother and her two daughters aged 9 and 16.

The night of January 12 to 13 was particularly difficult for the Pas-de-Calais firefighters. Two other fires were declared in homes in the town of Auchel.

The first was reported to the emergency services at 7:23 p.m., requiring the intervention of 11 firefighters in rue Séraphin Cordier in this town of more than 10,000 inhabitants. Two people escaped inconvenienced by the fumes.

But a few hours later, at 1:17 a.m. on Rue du Vieux Château, 22 firefighters found themselves again in front of a burning house. Three lances and the large ladder were deployed to put out the flames and prevent them from spreading to adjoining homes.

A 44-year-old man was transported to the Beuvry Hospital Center, in discomfort after being exposed to smoke from the fire.
