Bundesliga – 15th day – Bayern Munich quietly wins against Leipzig

Already crowned fall champion, Bayern Munich continues its lead. At the opening of the 15th day of the Bundesliga, the Bavarian ogre made short work of RB Leipzig to end the calendar year on a good note (5-1), after their first defeat in the league on the weekend last. Buoyed by the festive atmosphere before the break, the two teams gave us a spectacular start with two goals in two minutes. But the Bavarians quickly took the match into their own hands and put on a show offensively, with five different scorers, while remaining clinical at the back. Thus, the RBL could never hope for a victory which would have done them a lot of good after a complicated month of November.

This match first gave us a great start, with a performance that has not taken place since 1974 in the German championship: two goals in the first two minutes. Bayern's pressing was immediately rewarded by the goal of Jamal Musiala, who was able to adjust Peter Gulacsi after a clinical serve from Michael Olise after thirty seconds. But revolted and motivated to surprise the leader in his lair, the Leipzig players responded a few seconds later thanks to his offensive duo. Loïs Openda overflowed on the right side before serving his sidekick Benjamin Sesko in the area, who has shown rare efficiency this season. If we were then able to believe in a contested match between two title contenders, Bayern quickly proved that they did not intend to let the suspense last. First sovereign in the few defensive interventions they had to make, whether Alphonso Davies or Kim Min-jae, Vincent Kompany's players then took it upon themselves to disgust their opponents by stifling them offensively.
