Valtteri Bottas looks set to return to Mercedes F1 next year.
Having lost his seat at Audi-owned Sauber for 2025, the former ten-race winner at Mercedes has been linked not only with a reserve driver seat, but also with an advisory role to Toto Wolff.
Rumors are also circulating in Las Vegas that Bottas could be invited to race in the World Endurance Championship next year, given that Mercedes-AMG is returning to the category in conjunction with Italian LMGT3 team Iron Lynx .
“Nothing is signed, nothing is done, but if we were to get him back to the family we would all be very happy,” confides Wolff in Las Vegas about these negotiations.
“What we can say is that if you have the opportunity to have a driver like Valtteri back in the Mercedes family, with his abilities, with his most recent experience of these modern cars, you can consider it extremely lucky.”
“I'm very impatient. You know, negotiations at the end, lawyers always want to ruin contracts! Just kidding, they're great lawyers, and it's a matter of time.”
