Sergio Perez condemns his father's homophobic remarks against Ralf Schumacher

Sergio Perez, Max Verstappen's partner at Red Bull, has strongly condemned in recent hours the homophobic comments made by his father Antonio Perez targeting Ralf Schumacher. The latter, a former driver with six Grand Prix victories (1997-2007) and television consultant, came out last July. Recently, he criticized Sergio Perez for his disappointing season (eighth in the Championship and without a victory), which led Antonio Perez, also a politician in Mexico, to make inappropriate comments.

Sergio Perez denounces an error

Sergio Perez has distanced himself, telling Sky Sports: “I don't agree with any of his comments. I think he made a mistake in that regard. I don't share any of his opinions, but at the same time, I don't control what my father has to say. I can only control what I say. »

Ralf Schumacher responded with a message on Instagram, talking about his own experience as a father: “I would also support my son 100% and try to help him. That's what you do as a father. Regarding the style, I would differ, but we know Mr. Perez with all his emotions. That's why I don't blame him. However, I think that the results on the track would be the best arguments,” expressed Michael’s brother on social networks.
