Carlos Sainz finished fourth on the first day of testing in Las Vegas, just ahead of the other Ferrari. But the Spanish driver didn't manage to really feel comfortable, and he hopes to do better for the rest of the weekend.
“A complicated day in Vegas due to a difficult track with very little grip” note Sainz. “For FP2 we tried something different, but we're still not satisfied, even though the race pace wasn't too bad. Hopefully tonight we'll find ways to improve for tomorrow .”
Charles Leclerc admits to being disappointed with Ferrari's performance compared to expectations before the weekend: “It wasn’t a good day for us and it seems like it was tough for everyone else.”
“We're not as strong as we hoped to be at the start of the weekend. With the cold it's been difficult to get the tires up to temperature, which we knew would be a challenge, so we'll work on that .Let's see what we can do tomorrow.”
