Formula 1 | Red Bull turns to Vegas and unveils its… unused tribute livery

Red Bull showed at a show in Galway what the special livery the team had planned in Austin should have been. The reigning world champions had canceled two of the three special liveries planned for this season to limit the weight of the decoration on the bodywork and improve performance.

After the livery with the red patterns of Silverstone and the zebra one that we did not see in Singapore, it is a livery paying homage to the Red Bull decorations of the Sebastian Vettel era which should have appeared on the track in Austin.

It was ultimately only shown in a demonstration car driven by David Coulthard, before Red Bull Racing turned its attention completely to the final three rounds of the 2024 season.

After ten races without winning, Max Verstappen returned to the top step of the podium in Brazil, after an exceptional performance in the rain. The three-time world champion wants to finish his season on a good note and he could even validate his fourth world title in Las Vegas.

“Brazil was an incredible race for us and a really special moment for me and the team. The team did an outstanding job and we hope to continue this momentum in the next races” Verstappen said.

“Of course, Vegas marks the start of the last hat-trick of races of the year and so it's the home stretch for everyone. We had some good performances here last year and it's a very fast circuit , with long straights and plenty of opportunities to overtake and race.”

“Once again the temperatures look quite low so it will be about managing the tyres. We are taking each race as it comes and looking forward to the final races of the season.”

Sergio Pérez knows that his future is currently at stake, and the Mexican wants to perform well this weekend to end the year: “We're heading into a very important weekend for the team in Las Vegas. Last year this race was such an unknown, it was a completely new race, a new surface for all of us.”

“We were also in temperatures that we have never raced in normally. We had virtually no data in 2023, so this year we are approaching this circuit with a lot more information and understanding.

“For me it's a track I enjoy, I like the experience of the street track, with the tight walls and you can't compare to driving down the Strip or towards the Sphere towering over you. “

“While the race is a spectacle for everyone who attends and watches at home, it is a race where I know I have to perform and maximize this car and my own performance. I have been working with the team and I think São Paulo was much more competitive than what we were able to show.”
