“He will never be able to match Michael!”

Ralf Schumacher is not kind to Lewis Hamilton, believing that the Briton will never equal Michael Schumacher.

Ralf Schumacher, former Formula 1 driver and younger brother of the legendary Michael Schumacher, recently gave his opinion on the comparison between Lewis Hamilton and his brother.

In an interview on the YouTube channel of Formel1.deRalf Schumacher shared his opinion on the two champions. According to him, although Lewis Hamilton has won as many world titles as his brother, he is still far from matching him in terms of stature in the sport.

“Even Lewis Hamilton will never be able to match him”said Ralf, emphasizing the difference between the two drivers.
“Not for light years, from my point of view.”

The statement comes as Lewis Hamilton continues to pursue an eighth world title, a feat that would put him alone at the top of the F1 champion charts. For Ralf Schumacher, however, even if Hamilton beats his brother’s record in terms of titles, he will not achieve the same aura as Michael.

Comparison between Hamilton and Verstappen

Ralf Schumacher also took the time to compare Hamilton to another current F1 talent, Max Verstappen. He explained that while at one time Lewis Hamilton seemed unbeatable, Verstappen’s raw talent seems even more impressive.

“We thought Lewis Hamilton could walk on watersaid Ralf. But he can’t. We thought Max Verstappen could do the same thing, and he could go even further.”

According to him, Verstappen has a unique ability to make a difference in races, which puts him above Hamilton in terms of pure talent. This comment adds a new dimension to the still ongoing debate over who is the best driver of the current generation.

A look at his own career

During the interview, Ralf Schumacher also spoke about his own F1 career. Although he has not enjoyed the same success as his brother, with only six Grand Prix victories, he remains satisfied with his achievements.

“Of course I would have liked to be World Champion” he admitted, citing his two fourth places as his best results in the championship.

Ralf also reflected on the reasons that could have slowed his rise to the top. He acknowledged that misplaced priorities in his personal life may have influenced his performance on the track. However, he is philosophical about his career: “I’m happy with my life. I won races, I was fast enough, and I was able to make a difference here and there.”

A respectable career despite everything

Despite a record less extensive than that of his brother, Ralf Schumacher remains proud of what he has accomplished. He emphasizes that he was able to make a place for himself in a sport as competitive as F1, winning several victories and being seen as a fast and competent driver. Today, he says he is satisfied with the way he is perceived, recognizing that his journey in F1 has been rich in memorable moments.

Thus, although he never reached the level of his brother Michael, Ralf Schumacher can boast of an honorable career and a significant contribution to the history of F1.
