US election candidate ‘addicted’ to F1

Since the rise of social networks and the “Drive to Survive” series on the Netflix streaming platform, Formula 1 has never been so successful. According to the latest survey conducted by the F1 Global Fan Survey, audiences have increased by 50% with an audience that is getting younger and younger, going from 36 to 32 years old on average.

With the gap narrowing between the different teams on the field and the fight for the championship between Red Bull and McLaren, the spectacle is there. While the United States is in full swing for the presidential elections, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris recently spoke during an interview on Howard Stern’s show. In her statements, the latter revealed her passion for the premier category of motorsport.

“You might get addicted”

In Uncle Sam’s country where American championships such as Indycar or Nascar reign, the Oakland native is a big fan of Formula 1, but especially of Lewis Hamilton.

“It’s so good. We love it. The whole family loves it. I actually haven’t been able to watch them recently because I’m campaigning, and also because depending on where they’re rolling, the time of day, you have to wake up [tôt]. Lewis Hamilton, of course. He leaves Mercedes. [Lorsque le présentateur lui demande quel pilote supporte-t-elle] Once you start…you should see this, you might get hooked.”
