During the summer transfer window, OM multiplied avenues to strengthen its offensive sector. It was ultimately Elye Wahi and Neal Maupay who arrived to share the number 9 position, but before that, Eddie Nketiah was presented as a hot prospect. The latter finally joined Crystal Palace, in particular to stay close to his friends.

Before recruiting Elie Wahi et Neal Maupay in order to compensate for the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as well as the serious injury of Faris Moumbagnal’ABOUT had targeted Eddie Nketiah. The Arsenal striker finally signed for Crystal Palace which allows him to stay in London and therefore close to those around him.

Nketiah justifies his choice

« I still have friends in the area. I think Crystal Palace, as a whole, suits me perfectly. I feel really comfortable there. I like the way the club is, the morals it has », he says in an interview given to The Independent before saying more about his choice to sign to Crystal Palace.

“I still have friends in the region”

« I think I just needed to go somewhere where I felt like I would have an opportunity to be on the field and progress. I know it won’t click right away, but everyone needs a platform to progress, trial and error on the ground to learn. This is the main reason why I left Arsenal », added Eddie Nketiah.
