SLIDESHOW – Mbappé, Stade Toulousain, Monaco, PSG… Find out what caught the attention of the Figaro editorial staff this weekend.

But what is Mbappé doing? The striker started with his club Real Madrid this Saturday evening against Villarreal. The captain of the Blues played 70 minutes, a presence which contrasts with his absence from the team for the Nations League matches.

Monaco shone again, Adi Hütter’s men enjoyed another great success on the pitch at Stade Rennais (1-2). A victory which allows them to take the lead in Ligue 1 at the expense of Saint Germain. Luis Enrique’s players were held in check on the OGC pitch (1-1). A very average match from the uninspired Parisians who did not raise their heads after their defeat against Arsenal in the Champions League (2-0).

Still in Ligue 1, a Georgian shone. Zuriko Davitashvili single-handedly offered Saint-Étienne a very important success against (3-1). The striker scored a nice hat-trick, the second of the season in the league after Jonathan David’s against on the last day.

There is also talk of a hat-trick for the tricolor Marcus Thuram. Against Torino, the Inter Milan center forward passed three. Allowing his club to win (3-2) and take second place in Series A. Other French people distinguished themselves, Christophe Laporte in cycling on the 118th edition of Paris- and in golf, Céline Boutier in Shenzhen, China.

Conversely, their compatriots Arthur Fils and Paul Willemse had a bad weekend. The first in tennis, recent winner of the ATP 500 in Tokyo, fell at the start of the masters 1000 in Shanghai against the Spaniard Carballes Baena. The second sees his rugby future darken after a new concussion. For the same reason he suffered a forced shutdown last year.

Stade Toulousain continues its curse in . Since April 2019, the club has not won at Pierre-Fabre. On the other hand, things are better for the Ile-de-France clubs. After a complicated start to the season, Racing 92 and Stade Français are finding success again to give themselves some air in the Top 14.
