AC Milan plays against Lecce, Theo Hernandez in history

After the victory in the Derby against Inter, AC Milan dominated Lecce (3-0), Friday evening at the opening of the 6th day of Serie A. Theo Hernandez scored and equaled Paolo Maldini’s record.

AC Milan outclassed Lecce (3-0) by scoring three goals in five minutes to sign their third consecutive victory Friday at the opening of the 6th day of the Italian Championship. Five days after winning the derby against Inter (2-1) for the first time in two years, Milan confirmed their return to form.

It was certainly necessary to wait until the end of the first period for him to materialize his clear domination against the 17th in Serie A, but Paulo Fonseca’s team, overexcited, then delighted his fans thanks to Alvaro Morata (38th), Théo Hernandez (41st) and Christian Pulisic (43rd). After the break, the Rossoneri eased off, before being reduced to ten men in the 80th minute with the exclusion of young Davide Bartesaghi.

Thanks to this third success in a row in the league (4-0 against Venice and 2-1 against Inter), AC Milan has temporarily returned to 2nd place, tied on points with Torino (11 pts) which hosts Lazio on Sunday.

Note that Theo Hernandez scored his 29th goal with AC Milan, a total acquired in five years since he arrived in Lombardy in the summer of 2019. He thus equals Paolo Maldini who was the most prolific Milan defender until there but in 24 years.
