During his first official day in Maranello, Lewis Hamilton told Scuderia employees that he had “always” dreamed of joining the team.
The seven-time world champion began preparations for his first season with the Scuderia on Monday, visiting the legendary Maranello factory. This arrival of the seven-time World Champion within the Italian firm represents one of the largest driver transfers in the history of F1.
During the day, Lewis Hamilton met key members of the team and familiarized himself with the facilities, accompanied by Frédéric Vasseur, team boss, and Benedetto Vigna, general manager. Ferrari released a short video of the visit on social media on Tuesday, showing its new recruit greeting and speaking to staff in the factory.

“So I'm very, very happy and excited to meet everyone”Hamilton said in the posted video. “I can't wait to get started and get going.”
The 40-year-old Briton continued to discover his new team this Tuesday. He is expected to take part in technical meetings and briefings as preparations intensify for the new season.
